Anico is committed to lending responsibly
We take responsible lending very seriously and only lend money to new or existing customers that can afford to repay the loan. At the same time we also urge all customers to borrow responsibly. Before applying for credit please ensure that you can afford to make the repayments.
When meeting or speaking with you, our Customer Services Representatives will be working with you to ensure that you are able to afford your payments.
Measures we employ to help ensure we are lending responsibly include:
- Personal meetings or telephone interviews with our Customer Services Representatives.
- Carrying out comprehensive identity verification and credit checks to assess affordability, sustainability and creditworthiness.
- Ensuring net monthly income is taken into account when approving loan amounts, to ensure that you should be able to meet the scheduled repayments.
- Being fully transparent upfront - all of the terms and conditions of the loan, as well as the charges, will be clearly displayed to you to help finalise your application and decide whether to borrow the money.
Responsible Borrowing
At the same time we also urge all customers to borrow responsibly. Remember that we offer short to medium term loans that enable you to access additional funds when you need them to cover additional expenses.
As a responsible lender we want to ensure that you can repay your loan comfortably in a way that is affordable to you. We urge you to assess your finances, since you know these better than anyone, and only apply for a loan with us if you are confident you can afford to repay it on the chosen due dates. We also urge you to be open and transparent with us so that we can properly assess your financial situation.

Be aware of loan sharks!
Loan sharks are illegal lenders who tend to target low income families who are in need of money. Loan sharks are very dangerous people to become involved with and should be avoided at all costs. Loan sharks may be friendly to start with, but even if you keep up with your repayments, any money that you do borrow will come at a high price.
